The Construction Of Nkonjaneni Waterborne Sewer In Piet Retief

BACKGROUND

Nkonjaneni is an informal remote area next to Piet Retief in the Mkhondo Local Municipal area. The community of Nkonjaneni is currently using pit toilets, with some of the households without pit toilets. The project was identified by the municipality and funded by MIG funds. Lidwala Consulting Engineers have been appointed by the local municipality to design the sewer network, call for tenders and supervise the construction.

Lidwala was appointed civil engineers for the design and supervision of the sewer network.

DESCRIPTION

The work carried out under this contract is as follows:

•Design of the sewer reticulation for 275 stands for waterborne toilet in the yards including the toilet structure
•Design of the 1.7km outfall sewer connecting to the existing sewer onto the existing network of Piet Retief
•On-site technical back up, and construction supervision, assisting with land negotiations
