Upgrading of sections of M6, RD470 and D770

BACKGROUND

This project forms part of the objectives as defined in the Road Sector Framework (RSF) 2012 to transform Zambia from being a landlocked to a land linked Country. The Government of the Republic of Zambia, through the Road Development Agency have embarked on the maintenance, rehabilitation and improvement works of the Core Road Network (CRN) to meet these objectives.

DESCRIPTION

The Road from Luanshya via Fisenge to Masangano is an important road that is included in the Link Zambia Project, which is an initiative of the Government of the Republic of Zambia aimed at upgrading key roads connecting strategic towns within the country. The Lamba Lima Road will connect Ndola directly to Masaiti Boma and the Kafubu Block Road will connect the Kafubu farming block to Luanshya.

The scope of services as outlined in the Terms of Reference (ToR) for this contract, entails the following:

  • Preliminary road reconnaissance
  • Collection and review of existing data; Topographical survey; Geo-technical survey of the traffic
  • Inception
  • Concept and viability
  • Detailed design
