Upgrading of Welgedacht Bulk Water Supply

BACKGROUND

The Master Plan investigation study for the Welgedacht –Bakerton (Springs model) supply zone shows that the existing supply main installed in 2000 from the existing Persida Water Reservoir (constructed in 1997) to Petersfield/Payneville in Springs is currently operating under strain as a result of new developments namely Welgedacht and Welgedacht Ext 1 as well as densification of the supply area.

DESCRIPTION

Lidwala was responsible for contract administration and supervision of the construction of Phase 2 of the project. Phase 2 entails the construction administration and site supervision of the new bulk supply water line from the Persida Reservoir to Welgedacht, total length of consisting of approximately 5.4km.
